Emerald Produce are specialists in the supply of high quality root crops to the produce packing industries.
They routinely trade large quantities of stock between buyers and sellers from around the world.
Prior to our involvement all of Emerald's transactional data was stored on a number of very sophisticated Excel Spreadsheets. Emerald's existing business processes were working well but the ongoing use of Spreadsheets was creating many problems for them, namely:
- Duplication of data entry
- Problems associated with multi-user access
- Limited search capability
- Inadequate management reporting
Breeze IT were awarded the contract to develop a bespoke web enabled database application, using ASP.NET and SQL Server 2005.
Breeze IT developed a web application that provides full database management of Emerald's:
- Customers
- Suppliers
- Trades
- Stock
- Profit & Loss Analysis
The system is designed to allow Emerald to manage many aspects of the application themselves (multi-company capability, user & look-up management), negating the need to further involve Breeze IT for minor system adjustments. A bespoke reporting system is also included to deliver management information quickly and easily.
