Gleadell Agriculture required a system to manage the weighing and tipping of grain at their ports. They also needed a comprehensive reporting application that gives all staff, regardless of their location, a complete picture of the port operations.

Breeze IT were awarded the contract to develop a Windows Desktop VB.NET Application that links to the weighbridge for port loading operations and also a web based database application to collate the port data stored in a SQL Server 2005 database.

The Windows application manages the whole tipping process from arrival of the vehicle, sampling, weighing and tipping. Barcode technology was introduced. The tipping authorisation form is barcoded to ensure continuity throughout the operation and maintain quality control.

The bespoke web application provides comprehensive reporting via an internet browser. This application connects to the SQL Server 2005 database and provides the head office with a complete overview of port operations. The live loading state of the vessel, contract fulfilment levels and sample averages are available to all head office staff regardless of the port location.
