Fastabs UK (Ltd)
Fastabs UK (Ltd) produce printed garment labels, self-adhesive labels, swing tickets, riders, woven labels and Point of Sale (POS) packaging worldwide for many leading high street retailers. They are based in the UK but operate and deliver worldwide.
The Problem
As Fastabs expanded their operations worldwide to meet the growth in overseas manufacture of retailer stock, they found the problems of supplying global garment manufacturers with their labels increasingly difficult. Time pressure from retailers as well as Fastabs desire to have one of the quickest turnarounds in the market, forced them to look at a global IT solution.
The Solution
We suggested the use of a sophisticated combination of web services, web applications and database development to enable:
- Pick up and load of orders onto an SQL Server 2000 database (using .NET development)
- Secure and selective access for all parties (Retailers, Manufacturers, Printers and Administration)
- Full admin features to create, edit and delete users
- The management of a fully featured communications package to ensure all parties are aware of every stage of the process
- User-friendly management of orders for modification (selection of care code, composition etc) and confirmation
- Automatic delivery to print equipment
- Full management reporting
We have transformed Fastabs ability to operate and quickly expand overseas due to the use of Internet based technology and database development. There are no restrictions on global growth apart from the need for an Internet connection and a standard browser.
Communication between Retailer, Manufacturer and Printer has been enhanced massively with the operation becoming more efficient as a result.
